Artist Logo Contest
Blood cancer has touched the lives of everyone involved in this event. As heartbreaking as cancer can be, the Honored Hero Run gives us each an opportunity to stand up to it. To honor our loved ones as they battle this terrible disease and to come together as a community to do something about it!
Each year the HHR Board of Directors visits local hospitals; Cook Childrens and Medical City Dallas, to offer the opportunity for young cancer patients (ages 5 to 17) to enter a logo contest for our event. These young artists are the face of more than 327,000 people in the U.S. who suffer from blood cancer everyday. Their artwork shines a bright light for all the heroes we honor at the Race.
Logo Winners are awarded a certificate and are invited to attend the race as VIPs. Their logo is proudly displayed to represent the Event and help spread the word throughout the community about the mission of the Honored Hero Run.
It all happened 6 years ago, when I met my first real hero.
The first time we were faced with the struggle was in 2011. At the age of two Malachi had gotten lymphoma. At that time, we struggled and worried but we noticed two things: We grew closer together as a family and our faith was stronger.
Malachi is one brave little boy...his story will give you faith. Click To Tweet
